Three widgets#
Android home screen → long press → widgets → find APRSlocus:
| Widget | Contents |
|---|---|
| Weather | icon, temperature, condition, today’s high/low + metric cells + ham advice; four layouts chosen from the space you give it |
| HF | day → night condition bands per pair, so you see which band to try now |
| System status | a live snapshot of link, positioning and counters |
- Add the widget → open the app once (widgets are fed by the app).
- Blank after an update? Open the app once more to refresh them.
📲
The widgets never open a connection themselves: the app pushes an already-computed, already-localised snapshot to native code — the weather API key stays on the app side.
HF propagation panel#
- Source:
hamqsl.com(compiled by N0NBH, the de-facto standard in amateur radio); the endpoint updates hourly and the app caches it for 30 minutes. - What you see: SFI / Kp / A index, sunspots, X-rays, solar wind, day/night conditions for four band pairs, plus a 6 m forecast.
- How to read it: green good, yellow marginal, red poor — start with the best-coloured half of the pair.
honest
hamqsl conditions are a global/regional average, not a measurement of your location — weigh them against local time, antenna and noise floor.
